Happy Purim, Dance Fans! I hope this finds You all happy and well, or at least staying with the trouble.
The big news (well, MY big news) is the NEW SOLO, nigunim, premiering at Tanzfabrik Berlin in a few short weeks on March 23. Further shows on March 24 & 25. The performance will take place at Uferstudios, studio 5, in Berlin-Wedding, and my working title was “my Jewish piece”. See me try to stuff a lifetime of Family, Spirit, Politics, and Dance into a short evening and fail spectacularly. Also feel free to share this info with literally everyone You know. I am still attempting to prove you can be a performing artist while boycotting social media. Lots of love to the great team at Tanzfabrik for the support! ❤️🔥
More stuff happening now:
Tonight! And tomorrow night! If You’re in Vienna (and if You’re not, come quickly!), a beautiful coterie of colleagues and i are performing in SOILED, choreographed by the crown prince of the Austrian dance world, the fabulous mover & thinker Michael Turinsky! March 3 & 4 at Tanzquartier Vienna. (more shows will be happening June 2 & 3 at PACT Zollverein in Essen)
April 12-16 there is a great opportunity to join me, along with amazing teachers Barbara Bess, Christian Meier, and Anna Nowicka, for the second edition of the Somatic Performance Lab, on the topic of “Freedom & Form”, being held at the Kulturforum in Fürth. Participation in the lab is free of charge! (there is a small registration fee) and You can apply by sending your CV and a motivation letter to somatic-lab@gmx.de.
More info here!
April 29 & 30, i will be teaching a workshop on my own around the “Freedom & Form” topic, this time in a contact improv context (but open to anyone curious), at motionlab Cologne. More info here!
And in May, i will be going back to my roots and playing piano for some ballet classes at Marameo Berlin for Rebecca Gladstone’s training – May 15, 17, 19 at 10am. Come and join us at the barre! (and in the center!)
Sending lots of love your way. Stay safe, but not only.

David B.
